Epic - Queen Tara dress by kara023 Epic - Queen Tara dress by kara023
I saw the trailer and I was entchanted by the dress, I knew I would make it for a Barbie doll. It took some time (had to wait for the movie so I could take a veeery colse look at it), and I can tell you it is hard to find the perfect barbie for her, but I think this one is a quite good match. I am very pleased with the result. If you like it I would be very happy if you leave a comment.

Oh cool! I got a question how did you do the dress? I'm planing creating my Epic dolls since they never made them. I'm gonna do Nod,MK,Ronin and Tara. I'm just basically using Barbie dolls but change thier face up a bit plus try to make the clothes. I need ideas that will help me. You think you can help?

Wow this is a great idea you have to do the dolls, I want to see them when they are finished ^^

I will try to explain how I created the dress.
First I sewed a "skintight" dress of white material with a flowing skirt.
For the skirt I bought fake-flowers. I was not searching for special flowers I was just walking through the shops and looking what was available. In the end I bought white roses (with big petals, I think I uses 4-6 flowers), and lilies. Then i attached the flower petals - one by one - on the sewed dress on the barbie doll (took me 3h) after that I sewed all the petals and made few changes where the petals did not look right. I also sewed a view parts of white band into the flower petals, after the petals were attached. For the top part of the dress and the "jacket"(?) I used the green petals from my fake-lilies. For that I sewed some strings of wire on the top of the dress so that I could model the form of the dress. Again attaching the petals first and then sewing them on. The jacked was made of 2 big petals from the lilies. I sewed/glued them together that they would create this form. I cut the ends for the arms and yeah that’s it. Later i attached on the green dress part yellow glitter (but you can not see this in this pictures).
Yeah and that’s it. I always checked that the dress was fitting the doll all the time. This was very important for me because I wanted it to fit as perfect as possible.
If you need more help just feel free to ask me ^^ I am glad if i can help

very nicely made. Especially since it was made for such small proportions. I also love how you put her hair up in the same way as Tara's

Thank you sooo much.
It was not so hard to make this dress and I had a lot of fun doing it.
Yes the hair was a bit tricky, because the doll had SO MUCH of it.
The key is to find the fitting Barbie doll ^^
